  • Planning Board/Codes/Zoning Secretary: The Town of Essex is seeking a part-time secretary for the planning and zoning offices. Previous clerical experience recommended, but not required.  Work hours will vary each week, with an expectation of between 7 to 10 hours per week, including attendance at one evening meeting per month.   • Heavy Equipment Operator: The Town of Essex Highway Department has (1) full-time HEO position available. Applicants must hold a clean CDL. Starting rate of pay is $24.01 per hour. Benefits package offered through Teamsters contract, including health insurance, paid holidays, overtime, clothing allowance, vacation, sick and personal leave. Successful applicants will be trained on a variety of equipment and other miscellaneous tasks that pertain to the well-being of the town.
