This section of the Town of Essex website was created by the Planning Board to provide information about the Board and its responsibilities, and information for land owners interested in making improvements and changes to their property in the Town of Essex.

The links and information below provide access to minutes of the Planning Board, Town Laws related to land use, and information on how to determine the proper way to proceed in applying for land use changes.

The planning board meets every third Thursday of each month, at 7 PM in the Essex Town Offices on Main Street in the Hamlet of Essex. It also conducts an informal work session the proceeding Monday at 4 PM at the same location. Both meetings are open to the general public.
